Tips for Successful Verification

  1. Three Attempts Allowed: You have up to three (3) attempts to complete phone verification. If you exceed this limit, you will need to reach out to our Support team in-app to reset this for you.

  2. WhatsApp Verification: Depending on your region, the first two verification attempts may be sent through WhatsApp. If this applies to you, a screen will have appeared in-app explaining this process.

  3. Use a Mobile Carrier Number: Make sure the number you provide is tied to a mobile carrier (e.g., Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T).

  4. Avoid Prepaid or Virtual Numbers: Some prepaid numbers, virtual services, or VoIP numbers (TextNow, Google Voice, etc) may also face restrictions.

  5. Double-Check the Number: Ensure the phone number is active and capable of receiving SMS messages.

Why Do We Require Phone Verification?

Phone verification is an important step to ensure that every user account is secure, tied to a real phone number, and that each phone number is linked to only one account on Ember.

What Type of Phone Numbers Are Accepted?

We accept only standard phone numbers provided by mobile carriers, capable of sending and receiving SMS or calls directly. We do not accept VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone numbers.

VoIP numbers are virtual phone numbers that rely on the internet instead of traditional cellular networks. These include services like:

  • TextNow

  • Google Voice

  • Skype

  • Other internet-based phone services

Even if these services provide a paid option to "receive verification codes," they will still not work with Ember's phone verification system.

Why Don’t We Accept VoIP Numbers?

VoIP numbers are commonly used in ways that undermine the security and integrity of our platform, such as:

  • Creating multiple accounts.

  • Circumventing identity verification processes.

  • Engaging in fraudulent activities.

By restricting the use of VoIP numbers, we are better able to protect our earn program.

Common Issues and Solutions

  • Didn’t Receive a Code? Make sure your phone number is entered correctly and is provided through a traditional carrier, not a VoIP number.

  • Exceeded Attempts? Please contact our support team through the Help Center in-app.

  • Phone Number Already in Use? A phone number can only be tied to one Ember account. If you receive this error message, it means your number has already been verified with a different account. Please use the account associated with your number or contact support through the Help Center in-app for assistance.
